mark754 Posted January 8, 2005 Posted January 8, 2005 A lot of the products I sell are drop shipped by around 20 different suppliers and the order fulfillment process is getting pretty tedious as our sales increase. Right now, I e-mail the supplier of each order and ask them to confirm product availability, then pay them and they later e-mail me a tracking number, which I then e-mail to the customer. For orders containing product from several suppliers, it can get to be a nightmare. I'm wondering if anyone has set up their site to streamline this process. For example, I was thinking of creating an html e-mail which would be automatically sent to each supplier whose products were ordered. The e-mail could contain a form which the suppliers would fill in to notify us of the shipping status. It could also have a field for them to enter a tracking number. When suppliers reply to this e-mail, the info per the form would automatically update the order status in our db and send an e-mail to the customer. A summary report could be generated which shows the status of all open orders. Is there a contribution that can do some or all of these things? Also, is there a contribution that can track and administer returned items / refunds? Thanks.
mark754 Posted January 17, 2005 Author Posted January 17, 2005 Does anyone have any suggestions on this? Thanks.
RikR Posted January 17, 2005 Posted January 17, 2005 I have the same issue. Currently I am using the Packing Slip from PayPal, printing it to an application that creates a pdf file, attaching the pdf to an email and sending to my one drop shipper. The shipper uses the printed file to pick the order, then puts my packing slip in the package. But, I plan to start with two other drop shippers soon. Need a way to seperate the items. Rik Rasmussen
