I have a parse error when I try to pull up my website..

 

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/www/magic7.hiodstores.com/includes/languages/english/index.php on line 13

 

I had saved the file to my computer and compared the one in the file on the server and ran the line "13" parallel to the saved one.. It is exactly the same as far as I could tell.

 

Then I checked the whole file the same way and did not find any discrepancies that I could tell.

 

I then did a restore both from the server backup and from the backup to my computer that I did this morning.. neither corrected the problem.

 

Can someone please help? :'( :(

most likely some word with an apostrophe without a \ preceeding it, ie What's new here needs to be What\'s new here

Thanks John,

 

I can see where the "\" is not in there but when I add it and save it then thy the store again I still get the same error. I look again and the "\'s" are not there again.

 

May I have suggestions on what to do here please? ..

stop using the osc file editor

I am using notepad and uploading from the file manager..

I know this has nothing to do with the parse issue but does still come under the heading "ERRORS"

 

 

Now a friend of mine is having a problem with her store... she get's this error message:

 

Server error!

The server encountered an internal error and was unable to complete your request.

 

Error message:

Premature end of script headers: index.php

 

If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster

 

Can you help me to assist her with this or just point me in the right direction here in the forum or the knowledge base.. looked in both places for a resolution

 

 

believe me, it get's easier as soon as you know the structure better and what NOT to do.
