Cant get SSL installed without security alert

It was pointed out to me that a security alert was showing any time a customer wanted to go to checkout or creat an account on my site

 

I was using one of GeoTrusts certificates but after a bit of research I found out there were better certificates with more browser compatibility so I opted for a Thawte SSL123 which claims to have the highest compatibility rate in the industry.

 

So I installed the cerificate from Thawte and I am STILL getting the security alert saying I have not not yet chosen to trust the cerificate, which means it is not in the trusted root certificate authorities of my browser, but it should be!!

 

Has anyone else come across this problem and found a solution or can anyone recommend anything I could try so I can get ssl working when needed without security alerts!!

Okay, your hosting company needs to reboot the httpd files on that server for the install to be completed. At the moment, and until they do that, there is no intermediate certificate, so the trail to the cert cannot be verified.

In other words tell them that they need to install intermediate certificate.

My hosting company rebooted the files but it hasnt made any difference, they want to try and install the certificate themselves to see if it will make a difference but I dont see how it will if all they are gonna do is what I have done?
