when someone orders something in my store, i get an email with the description of the article, the price and tax, and the address od the customer

what's next?

how do i receive the money the customer confirmed to dispose to me?

with paypal, i assume it will be added to my PayPal account

with postal service, i assume the customer pays the mailman (rembours it's called in holland)

but do you need something extra for regular credit card? how does it work?

thanx in advance for the dummie help!

You will need a merchant account. Then you will need a payment gateway. Some, like Linkpoint are one in the same. But you will need to configure your store to take the customer to/thru the payment gateway.

Hi there,

Well you decide on how you want to receive your money. It is your shop. But giving several options to customers will make it easier for them to pay you. If the payment is difficult, the customer might say no to the transaction anyway.

concerning payment modules. Have a look in the contribution area. There are a lot of modules there. Not all are for you since some merchant/payment gateway only work with US Dollar and not any other currency

You will find the contributions here: OsCommerce Contributions

thanks!

so i'll either need a merchant account or find some contribution which'll help me further

i'll check right away!

First check the contributions. It usually says there to which provider it is relevant. Most are called the name of provider like for example paypal. But read the rules of each provider as they do not all accept all kinds of business as for example things like erotic kind of goods.

check.

the only thing i want to add now is an advance payment module, which i found in the contributions section

but i don't understand the instructions in the readme:

adding bank account numer & advance payment module

run the attached SQL file

bankpl.sql for Polish

banken.sql for English

copy included files to appropriate directories.

Edit the file include/languages/modules/english.php !!!!!

(My English is rather poor,sorry)

install the module in Admin

in My Store configure bank name and bank account number

This module will add a footer with bank information

to the order e-mail sent to the customer.

Use at your own risk.

TODO:

- Change e-mail footer to include owner name and total

- how do i "run the sql file"?

- the file include/languages/modules/english.php as stated in the quote above does not exist, i assume he means the file /include/languages/modules/payment/advance.php ... if i translate this into dutch, will it be recognised?

- does anybody know where the email footer is located? and how to change it?

thanks again in advance!
