ok i looked everywhere, i tested buying a product from my website and i never received any email notification that the order went through or happened

 

where do i need to go to turn something like this on, or does something like this even exsist?

In your admin center-> configuration -> send extra emails to -> add the address where you want to receive the emails.

i can't find how to place items in the catalog in specific order. (i.e. products within a specific catagory)
