CalendarGirl Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 I have done repeated installations of the osCommerce store. Although I do not know how to edit php files, I have been able to accomplish everything I need to do (well most everything) through the admin panel (adding and deleting products, uploading images, etc.) But each time I open the catalog/includes/languages/english/index.php file to make changes, the file seems to become corrupted. Even if I make no change, I have the same problem. When I opend the store (catalog/index.php) I see the text of the index.php file in it's raw form: This is a default setup of the osCommerce project...\'); etc. Instead of the WHAT'S NEW HERE Welcome Guest - , etc the usual index page giving instructions on changing the file. I have used: define(TEXT_MAIN', 'my new text'); I've tried deleting everything in this file, but that deletes important instruction. How can I edit this file without corrupting it? Is this file itself corrupt? Thanks,

Edit the files on your PC using Notepad or your favorate text editor and upload them to your server again. ALWAYS keep a backup copy of any files you change in the event you mess up and have to reload the original copy. Hope this helps, Bob G. CalendarGirl Posted January 7, 2005 Author Posted January 7, 2005 Thanks, I'll give it a try. Carol Ann
