Hi All, I think we are ready to get this thing off the ground. Your input is greatly appreciated!!

Hiya

I tried to look at your store, but it timed out and the error I got was that it couldn't find the server!

I don't think it's a problem at my end, as I can view others.

It appears that my service provider is having some problems with a DOS attack currently. Please check back later.

I really would like your input on this.

Thanks!

Hiya

I've just checked it and it worked this morning.

I like the site. It's very clear and easy to find what you're looking for. My only comment is about the colours. I think the navy looks very hard against the white background. But that's just my personal opinion.

Good luck with the store!

I like the site, it looks good. No nonsense, gets the point across, and provides easy directions to BUY! :-)

The blue is fine with me. You might take into consideration that some people will find it too strong. However, this is a popular color scheme for many websites, large and small. Blue, white and gray work tremendously for ecommerce.

1. You need to revamp your privacy policy. If you need the standard layout you can find tips, tricks and I believe a form for creating a perfect privacy policy at http://www.bbbonline.com or any other privacy-concerned service (i.e. eTrust).

2. I love your contact page. It screams "We are for real and here for you!" That is very good!

3. Your Conditions/Agreement could use some work. It is far better than nothing, but it wouldn't hurt to get a legal draft from a lawyer, specifically an ecommerce specialized lawyer.

4. Get rid of any remaining stock osCommerce images, such as in your Conditions page, etc.

5. GASP! You have no copyright information. I would add this with a link to copyright info at the bottom of your agreement section:

Copyright © 2004 Inspired Innovations Products, Glendale, AZ

Also include an LLC, Inc., etc. remarking what type of registered business you are.

6. I like the idea of model shopping. Of course Ford is only one so far (largest albeit) but it is a nice way to make it easy for customers.

Best o luck!

Ruhl and Wendy,

Thanks for taking the time to check out the site. Knowledgable feedback is alway great.

Ruhl -

Were you able to get to the product descriptions fairly easy? After selecting the make/model/year (ie. Ford->F-150->2002-2003), a list of two products comes up. I was wondering, at this point is it apparent that you need to click in the product column to get the description?

Also, I've been viewing the webstats for the site, I'm not so sure the correlation, if any is for these statistics. Basically put, what stats give a general idea of what type of traffic is the site creating?

Number Of Visits

Pages

Hits

Bandwidth

Thanks,

I like the site as it is pretty straightforward and for me the colors are okay as they make it all very clear.

The heading titles of your boxes might look better if you center them, especially the first one which goes over two rows.

Get rid of 'Top' in your navigaton, your logo already does the same, or give it a better name like 'Home'.

Inside the Quick Find box I would put a line break between -OR- and 'Advanced Search'

Maybe you could combine the two pictures with the text underneath so it will become more attracting to scroll down and read that part of your home page also.

Succes with your site !

I cannot speak for everyone, but when I view a site with a list as yours, even with "buy now" images and whatnot, I usually roll my mouse's cursor over the text to see if it is clickable for more information.

You could edit the CSS directive for the links, or make a new class to distinguish them and to not affect the other links elsewhere, and make them underlined. If aesthetics is a determining factor with the model year information below the main text, you could separate the two links into two separate classes; make the top one underlined and the model information not underlined (or not even a link at all). Being underlined, it would flash "I am a link, click on me" to those who wish more information, yet you still provide the "Buy Now" listing availability for those quick and impulsive buyers! :-)

To accomplish the above it should be easily applied in your PRODUCT_LIST_NAME case in includes/modules/product_listing.php.

Hope this helps

Clean and friendly.

Some detail tweaks might help it hang together a bit more visually

can you replace the standard osC buttons. the colour mismatch with your strong navy theme looks poor.

Replace the magnifying glass image under the search box

lose the stock osC images - too cartoony. there are contribs that do this by replacing them with 1px blank gifs if you want to do it in a hurry.

Your Home | Application | Installation menu is not showing up on Firefox 0.9.2.

It comes up as | |

good luck

Well I think it's unanimous that the stock osC images need to go away.

Iain:

Any suggestions for buttons and botton colors?

All:

Again, thanks for the input! This info is what I was looking for to make the site clean, professional and user friendly.

If you have a decent graphics editor - PhotoShop, PaintShop Pro, The Gimp etc, I'd suggest you create some new ones using one of the main colours from your site. Create a base button and use layers to create the different text. Might seem a small thing but it really jars visually

It looks good in IE, but with Firefox it shows up as white text on a white background. I think I'd change that.............. :'(
