Guest Posted January 6, 2005 Posted January 6, 2005 I am almost ready to go live with my site but I am concerned about the admin folder. It has no security whatsoever. Am I supposed to simply rename it or is there a way to add a username / password to the admin? I tried renaming it but then inside the admin none of the links worked. Please be overcritical, the reason I came to OSC is becuase my old windows shopping cart VPASP was hacked into a dozen times over the last year.
Guest Posted January 7, 2005 Posted January 7, 2005 The easiest way is tu use .htaccess. If you don't know how setup .htaccess, take a look here: http://www.freewebmasterhelp.com/tutorials/htaccess/ Most of the hosting companies offers directory protection using .htaccess through their control panel (Plesk, cPanel, etc.) -DS
