DB Backup

I thought it was about time to clean up my site and get rid of some of the crummy mods i have installed over the past couple of months and install a few new ones that i've been meaning to try so I:

 

1. Backed up and downloaded my database though the admin backup,

 

2. Removed my catalog through cPanel

 

3. Uploaded a fresh copy of osCommerce

 

4. Uploaded some of my images and other files that I knew worked.

 

5. Installed a few mods that I liked including "Graphical Borders" and "Image Resize v.1.5" (which involves uploading a mySQL file)

 

6. Installed my shared SSL

 

At this point everything was groovy....then I restored my backed up DB and things went pear shaped. (so I know this has something to do with the database)

 

1. The upper left image of my categories box only shows up when you click on a sub-category or a category that contains subcategories.

 

When you click on a category sometimes the image disappears. Other times you click on another category and it magically reappears! WTF!!! 2. Second, I got the old ever popular "This page contains both secure and non-secure items, Do you want to display the non-secure items?" I think I might have a handle on this one, but I've been spending so much time on the other problems that I haven't figured it out yet.

 

3. Third, the center box changes sizes according to what page your on. Somtimes it stretches to 100%, and other times it chops down to about 300px and the left and right columns change width as well. WTF!!!! I never changed the widths and it worked fine until i restored my backup!

 

4. And most devestating is that I completely lost all of my product descriptions and product atributes. I was able to see that the descriptions are contained in the database, and the attributes show up in the admin panel...but they are not showing up on the site. AAAAARRRRGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

 

The same thing is happening when uploading a previous backup as well so I'm not too sure it's a corrupt backup unless i have two corrupt backups.

 

I've been up for 36 hours now trying to fix this...someone please help me before this community experiences it's first suicide by osCommerce!!!

Ok...i think I have MOST of my problems fixed, please don't ask how I did it cause I don"t know, but I'm still having problems when you click on a product, the center box does not expand to 100% and the left and right columns expand to larger than what i have specified.

 

Anyone know what the problem might be?

i figured it out...i was using two contributions that confilicted with each other, probably not a common problem, but if anyone is having difficulties with the same problem and they are using image_resize 1.5, let me know
