Categories style - help needed

Hi,

 

a) Is there a way to change the style of the Categories, I want to put some spacing in between the items on the Categories list to make it look better.

 

B) I have seen some sites that use gif bullets instead of the default -> when sub categories are present, is this a contrib or a code edit of some description?

search the contrib section for "categories." there are a ton of packages.
