Unchi Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 i try to install after uploading and i get this error New Installation Database Import A test connection made to the database was NOT successful. The error message returned is: Host 'XX.XX.XXx.XXX' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server Please click on the Back button below to review your database server settings. If you require help with your database server settings, please consult your hosting company. i uploaded my catalog to my virtual domain and it just wont install the user name and PW are correct any suggestions?
Guest Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 really contact your host to make sure the database settings are correct. this is usually trouble-free in osc ;)
♥Vger Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 You say that you uploaded your 'catalog' folder - but did you set up a blank database via phpMyAdmin? Vger
Unchi Posted January 5, 2005 Author Posted January 5, 2005 You say that you uploaded your 'catalog' folder - but did you set up a blank database via phpMyAdmin? yeah i did then i uploaded the oscommerce mysql to it
bobg7 Posted January 5, 2005 Posted January 5, 2005 You only needed to create a blank database, the OSC install will populate it for you. Did you create the database or did your hosting company? Try going to PHPmy Admin on your hosts control panel that should show you the database name, in mine it's formated as xxxx_xxxx then click on that and it should open another screen asking for your username, again in mine is xxxx_xxxx and password xxxx. Something like this: Database name = username_dbname Username = username_username Password = password Check it out and good luck, Bob G. Installed Contributions: CCGV, Close Popup, Dynamic Meta Tags, Easy Populate, Froogle Data Feeder, Google Position, Infobox Header Entire Row, Live Support for OSC, PayPal Seal with CC images, Report_m Sales, Shop by Price Revised, SQL Updater, Who's Online Enhancement, Footer, GNA EP Assistant and still going.
