A test connection made to the database was NOT successful.

The error message returned is:

Host 'XX.XX.XXx.XXX' is not allowed to connect to this MySQL server

Please click on the Back button below to review your database server settings.

If you require help with your database server settings, please consult your hosting company.

really contact your host to make sure the database settings are correct. this is usually trouble-free in osc ;)

You say that you uploaded your 'catalog' folder - but did you set up a blank database via phpMyAdmin?

You only needed to create a blank database, the OSC install will populate it for you.

Did you create the database or did your hosting company?

Try going to PHPmy Admin on your hosts control panel that should show you the database name, in mine it's formated as xxxx_xxxx then click on that and it should open another screen asking for your username, again in mine is xxxx_xxxx and password xxxx.

Something like this:

Database name = username_dbname

Username = username_username

Password = password

Check it out and good luck,

Bob G.
