ocb Posted January 4, 2005 Posted January 4, 2005 We have HSBC payment module working with OSCommerce. Currently if HSBC detects any fraud such as mismatch of shipping and billing address (which we want to allow), or it fails AVS etc etc, then the "code" of which they speak that gets sent back, does not register somehow, and OSCommerce gets no record of the sale. Therefore we do not get any email and OSCOmmerce records show no order details. The only way we can possibly find out is if we happen to log into HSBC's secure e-payments control center, and see there is an order we are unaware of. The bad thing about that then, is that there is no information about the product ordered, so we are totally in the dark as to what they actually ordered - and have to email them and ask, which is most unprofessional. We cannot keep an easy track of our stock either, and oscommerce does not contain a record of all sales, only the successfully unfrauded ones! All we need to know is how we can check what OSCommerce is getting from HSBC, and what to change to make it work even if fraudshield has kicked in. Can we then find out somehow that fraud is declared? We don't want to send out an order and then check to find fraud. I only just managed to get HSBC themselves to turn off a few rules to stop it happening so much, as we're not allowed to!!! We know little about the system and are amazed we managed to get this far with the 2 working together as it is. ANy help much appreciated. Thanks!

I also have this problem, has anybody managed to solve it ? Cheers
♥Vger Posted February 8, 2006 Posted February 8, 2006 One of the major problems with this system is that it takes the information (numerical only and not alphabetical) from address line 1 and checks it against the postcode. So if the cardholders address is 29 Moles Lane, and the Post Code is NW2 3PQ and they check out then there is no problem. However, if the cardholder (when they register on your site) uses the address as follows then the match will fail: Address Line 1: Red Brick Cottage Address Line 2: 29 Moles Lane Post Code: NW2 3PQ This can be adjusted in the error codes which you accept in the HSBC module, in this case error code 9 would be added to error code 0 as acceptable. You'll get the order back, and order e-mails will get sent out. But if you apply this mod then you MUST check your HSBC admin BEFORE you ship anything, as an error code 9 order will be listed there as Fraud Pending and will have to be 'Accepted' by yourself before the transaction is completed. All of this info is in the Contribution Support Forum thread for the HSBC e-Secure module. Vger
