Separate catalog from shopping cart 'engine'

Hi folks!

Happy New Year! I have a question - I've searched the forum but with 1000s of posts it's difficult.

Is there a relatively simple way to separate the 'catalog' section of osc from the cart 'engine'? In other words I would like to be able to use the actual shopping cart basket and transactional section with HTML web sites without all of the catalog features/blocks.

Aside from just removing un-needed features, is there a way to just 'break' the cart in half <smile>

Thanks

Short answer NO. Of course it can be done but not easily.

The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing.

Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems?

There are many very useful osC Contributions

Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here

BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

Actually it may not be as difficult as I originally thought. I'm using the STS mod which allows easy manipulation of the template. It seems to me that all I would have to do is not include the features I don't want and then link to the individual products from the HTML site.

Has anybody tried this approach?

Thanks
