Trouble clearing the Main Contents

I have tried a number of variations and can not figure it out. Please help me.

That got me past that line now it says

I was thinking that the "what's new here" would be a problem but I do not see an ' being used in the code below. What would I want to change?

Got it. Works great now. I will catch on soon enough. I learn fast. I do have a question though. I was editing in the admin file manager and those \ that you had me add are gone when I open the file up again. Do you know why that happens?
