osc_beginner Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 After installing OSCommerce and going to http://mysite.myhost/osc/catalog/install the database cannot be installed because firstly it says: "The file to import must be located and named at: /home/vhosts/mysite.myhost.com/osc/catalog/install/oscommerce.sql " The installation wizard then says, "The following error has occurred: SQL file does not exist: /home/vhosts/testing123.realfreehost.com/osc/catalog/install/oscommerce.sql " So my question is, my does it add /home/vhosts before the address of oscommerce.sql ? How can I fix this error? My second question is this: What could you do if you webhost didn't accept the uploading of .sql files. Could you run OSCommerce without the file oscommerce.sql ? Are there any alternatives? Please help, thanks in advance for your help, very much appreciated
Jack_mcs Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 That part of the path it is adding is the path to your shop. Are you sure you have the sql file on your server? osCommerce is designed to be used with a database. Without that option, you are out of luck. You need to find a host that supports mysql.
