jcockrell Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 When i go into the admin area of my oscommerce site in the bottom left it says "You are not protected by a secure SSL connection." and has an unlocked padlock. I'm sure i told it was when running the setup (automatic on host4apound) and when i click login there is a padlock shown in firefox. So why is it saying i'm not protected? Is this a problem for me? bglkk Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Hi: Try this... "EZ" Secure Order & Customer Viewing for osCommerce Admin This contribution addresses an issue with the store admin to allow secure viewing and editing of order and customer details while allowing the rest of the admin to remain in standard mode -- alleviating unneccessary strain on the SSL server and allowing generally quicker operation of nonSSL admin functions. http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,2274/ "Buy the ticket, take the ride..." -HST
jcockrell Posted January 3, 2005 Author Posted January 3, 2005 Hi, most of the site isnt ssl, just the checkout and login i think, but theres no much stress on the server. This doesnt explain or fix the unprotected notice though does it?
bglkk Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Right, admin is not secure by default. The contribution addresses that for critical pages such as customer info. "Buy the ticket, take the ride..." -HST
