Keep getting logged out of system

hi all,

I've been using oscommerce for around 7 months and i think its a wonderful script! :) i've installed quite a number of contributions and they are running ok. but recently, i've been receiving feedbacks/complains from customers that they kept getting logged out of the system despite logging in numerous times. after logging in, when they try to surf around, they'll be prompted with the login page again and again.

can anyone pls help to advise what may be wrong and how it can be corrected? thanks in advance! :)

This is usually caused by incorrect cookie settings in /includes/configure.php - post them here along with the server parameters above them.

You are losing a squillion customers waiting for the registration email.... :( not a good idea - you are better to use a security code

I am waiting to look at your site - the cookie settings look ok

it can also be that those users have cookies disabled and you have a link that loses the session_id

I think Boxtel is correct - I can't stay logged in with cookies disabled :blink:

The session_id remains in the URL, so the problem is with mods you have made - probably to login.php

hmmz...thanks guys..I'll try to take a look at my login.php and see how. but some of them said they have already enabled their cookies, but still, kept getting logged out. :(

i think the problem may not be with login.php. Have tried replacing the file with the original default.php and still encounter the same problem.

. can teach me how to use a security code? or what u mean by that. :)

awww...this whole issue is so demoralizing. it seems like, with cookies disabled, the "session" or something will be lost on the third click. =/ How easy/difficult is it for me to reinstall my osC in my root folder? any ways for me to do them up in another directory then export over or something? :(

you should review/rollback your latest changes you made because if I disable cookies, even when it passes the session_id around, I lose it.

I add to the cart, when I hover over "continue shopping" I get 2 session_id's in the url and when I click on anything, the cart contents is gone.

sometimes when I click on a product I get the login page, sometimes the product page.

update cart gets me back to the login page.

Keep getting logged out of system
