Site only picking up half the orders.

Yes, I've used OSCommerce for about a month and a half and I have one major problem. People are paying via Paypal, I recieve the money but the order isn't listed in my orders and their wants stay in their shopping cart, so I have no idea what they want. Its a big problem because I recieve the money but have no idea what they ordered, so I have to contact them and hope they respond. I thought maybe it was just an order or two but I've problem not recieved 20 orders that I had a payment for.

 

Any help would be EXTREMLY appreciated.

yes, this is because they are not clicking the link to return to your store. The completed transaction, therefore does not get sent back from Paypal.

There are two things you can do (maybe more):

1 Activate Paypal's Auto Return feature in your account with them. This will help but isn't perfect.

2 Install the latest contribution for Paypal IPN from the OSC team. Look in contributions.

The other thing that will help now is to add a super password (also a contribution, but really simple as I recall). It is a sort of skeleton key that you use the customer's e-mail and the super password to log into their account and complete the order using check/money order as the payment option. Note that they will be notified with a confirmation e-mail so you may want to include comments that you have manually completed the sale but they are fully paid.
