The CD shop is what has been up and running for 5 months.
burt Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Words like "cheapest" will put customers off. Use positive words like "best value" instead. Your shop is plain, but functional. Not really sure what more comment to give as it is still plainly an osCommerce Shop. I'm not sure you've made enough changes to the look/layout to legally remove the "copyright osCommerce"...but I am not a Lawyer, so I'll leave that up to you to decide.
dakatone Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 I agree, the site is functional. Easy part is done. For design and such might I recommend a nice header? If you visit, for example, a travel site for a destination in Cote'd'Azur, Ireland or anywhere else that is visually distinguishing (as Scotland is) it is fruitful to include a header with images that use that persona to their benefit. Since you are a Scottish music retailer, an example might be an excelent header backdropped with a gentleman playing the bagpipes upon a grassy hill in Scotland, the breeze slightly ruffling his kilt. Ok, extreme, but you get the idea :-) BTW, I went to FirstFoot's main page, and the header there is closer to what I am talking about. It adds color and relativity without adding too much weight (in bytes that is). I like that you have "My Profile" rather than "My Account", so much friendlier to the consumer. Overall your product display is good. I like the descriptions (not too much not too little) and the added information on ISBN, Publisher, tracks, etc. is a nice, professional touch too. Nice work, keep it up :-) Ruhl
Guest Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Mmmmmmmmm ......... kilts ........... mmmmmmmmm.... NO WAY MAN!!!! But you're bang on right. We've spent six years building the main site to 150,000 page impressions a week and is seems foolish to not capitalise on the branding. So I've put the main site logo on the shop and it looks much butter. Thank you :-) Slainte
