Secure Site and Product Attribute Problems

Two main problems for today. First, any button that would normally take you to a secure page, ie. "My Account" "Check Out", etc. takes me to an error page. Did I forget to turn something on somewhere?

 

Secondly, in the product attritute section, is there some way to list the category but then let the user type in a response. Some of my custom products have will let the user pick from 45 different colors which is way to many to put on a pull down--it would be much easier if the buyer could just type in the color preferred.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

There are several possible reasons for the secure page error, but without a link to your site to see for myself, I don't know which it is. Some possibilities include:

 

- Your host requires you to place files to be accessed through SSL in a different directory

- You have incorrectly specified HTTPS_SERVER and DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG

- You have a .htaccess with rewrites that doesn't work for your SSL path
