Changing the new items on the first page

Hi:

 

I need to know if there is a way to change the "new" items to something else other than it just being the latests ones I entered. I have several new items, but they may not nessecarily be the ones I want to be on the front page.

 

Like if I was selling cars and listed all the 2005s in first to get them out of the way, but them inputed the 2004's, the 2004's would be listed in the "new" place.

Check through Contributions, as there may be one that does what you want. And remember - they change tomorrow anyway - because it's 1st January!

So if I find one of these contributions, what is it that I do with it? I am a little new with this, although it is a lot easier than the last store I built.
