Guest Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 I remember downloading os commerce shopping cart about 6 months ago and spending about 3 months trying to tweak it up.... we can say i began from scratch. Just today i happned to notice FANATASTICO........which also had the os commerce cart and so i decided to install it....Bingo....i did everthing for me...my hosting server did. I then remember trying to upload the created my own oscommerc.gif to replace the standard one but would not reflect...i did follow the proper directory..../shop/images/oscommerce.gif So my question is the following...is there a difference in administrative uses or permissions on the back end if the SERVER...installed the os cart for you? http://www.1570.info/shop/ CANNOT FIND MY OSCOMMERCE.GIF :-"
Guest Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 hmmmmmm, you should have been able to do evrything": bingo on a server with or without fantastico. some hosts dont have updated osCommerce, etc on the server so you are again taking a chance. did you set the file permissions on all the directories? images needs 777.
Guest Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 no remeber i did not download it .....the my hosting server generated it for me....are there any other permissions i may need to change besides the 777 for the images. I just aquired paypal and i they offer a shopping cart as well do you suggest i use theirs instead? Which cart is more sophisticated? Do you know? Thank You
