JnJSpdShop Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 (edited) I want to start accepting credit cards, and don't want to use paypal or have customers redirected off my site ( www.jandjspeedshop.com ) I called authorize.net and the package they have with Wells Fargo didn't seems all that bad to me. I got the OScommerce site working okay even though I am not great with this type of stuff. What do I need to do once I get my merchant and gateway account from authorize.net?? * heard mention of a newer authorize.net payment module, which one is the correct one because there are a couple under the contributions * heard mention of cURL?? I have no idea what that is, is there a quick explanation? * do I need a secure server, like https: instead of http: and how is that obtained * Is there a FAQ or easy setup guide for dummies like me? Any other information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Edited December 31, 2004 by JnJSpdShop Quote
Guest Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 the best one to use is authorizenet with curl. then it takes time to install it and get it to work. yes you need a secure server, ask your host if they have a shared ssl certificate. if not then you can change to a host who has a shared ssl. or you can purchase your own, which then means you need a dedicated ip address and the price goes up monthly. curl is a part of the server, you can check to see if you have curl by going to the store admin, tools, server info and search for curl. Is that something you usually add as a option and pay for? I pay for hosting through www.sagemind.com My service includes SSI (server side includes) & an SSL manager Edited December 31, 2004 by JnJSpdShop Quote
Guest Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 shared ssl is usually included, if the host offers it Quote
JnJSpdShop Posted December 31, 2004 Author Posted December 31, 2004 shared ssl is usually included, if the host offers it <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Well I have something in my control panel called SSL manager? I don't see anything on sagemind's website about SSL certificates. If they don't offer it is is something I can get from somewhere else and still use sagemind. Where is the best and most economical place to purchase one Quote
