charles1 Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 I use www.ace-host.net which comes with SSH access and free shared SSL certificates. I generated a key then a certificate and then finally generated a CSR. What is the process on this? It has apache installed and I have shell access so should I restart Apache? How would I go to about donig this? Thanks.
Guest Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 a shared ssl is different than your own ssl where you generate the CSR. your host should provide you with the proper path to use for shared ssl and what you need to type in there. contact your host and ask how to access the shared ssl certificate. that is a global (meaning all web sites on that server use the same one) so it does not require a restart of apache.
charles1 Posted December 30, 2004 Author Posted December 30, 2004 Well, they were no help because they don't support you with this stuff. They charge for everything..lol. Here's the URL I found: https://ace.securenet-server.net/~charles1 but the images are lacking!
charles1 Posted December 30, 2004 Author Posted December 30, 2004 Figured it out. It probably needed a referral from a non-secure site instead of directly navigating there.
