Database Optimizer going crazy

My hard drive crapped out on me awhile back so I lost all the info I had, including what contribution this optimizer was, sorry.

I think it's pretty common so hopefully you know which one I'm talking about. It defrags your sql database and emails you once a week after it's complete.

Well I checked my email this morning and I had over 400 of these "you store has been optimized" emails. It's gone completely out of control, and I have no idea why. I just want to get rid of it but I don't how or where to look.

Please if someone can help, this is driving me insane.

Thank you

most likely database optimizer. however if your database isnt very big, i dont see the point in this. do you get a few hundred thousand hits a day and do you have a few hundred thousand products?

Hey,

I am going thru the same thing now myself. I read a thread the other night that someone else is also. I went looking tonight for the contrib (Automatic Database Optimization) and could not find it at all in the contribs section. I have my copy of it if you need it. I was able to (last night) download an update for it that lets you pick the number of times for updateing (I am going to install it tonight and see if that helps for not.) The problem is that it (the db optimization) can be called from a web browsers (from what I read last night). Hopefully this will clear it up. I'll keep you posted.

No nothing close to that. I didn't realize that and now I definitely just want to get rid of it.

If you could give me the original file that would be great. I think with that I can figure out how to uninstall it.

My email is [email protected]

Much appreciated

There is a mistake in the code.  Find this line in the optimize_table.php file
if ($previous_day > 355)

and change it to 365.

Thanks a million Jack. I'll give that a shot :D

Thanks for the code and help!

I was comparing the update I had downloaded and your code to see if they were the same. Not sure if you are interested or not, but what I downloaded enables you to set the number of days in the admin section. It also includes a check to make sure it doesn't run to soon. I installed it last night and I am waiting to see if it works.

The newest update from http://www.oscommerce.com/community/contributions,3075 fixes that problem and it quite more secure.
