Guest Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 Hi. i have done everything too change permissions for configure.php but still this warning comes : Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: /customers/sevenparts.dk/sevenparts.dk/httpd.www/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file. Now i have given it up, can i somewhere delete something, so this warning is not showing up ??
PartyMania Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 In your hosts control panel or FTP client change permissions to 444, or just uncheck everyhing in the 'write' permission column

Guest Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 now i have tried to different and it doesnt help......
AWWWW.WAHWAH Posted December 28, 2004 Posted December 28, 2004 I know what you mean. My host uses cPanel. When I tried to change permissions to 444 via my FTP program it would show that it did but actually didn't. When I would go to my cPanel and look at my files from there using File Manager, the permissions was the same. So ... CHMOD the file permissions from there if you can, IF you have cPanel if not use a different FTP program. Use shareware versions like LeapFTP to give it a go before purchasing it.

I dont understand it ?? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hi to me it sounds like your host does not allow you to change your file permissions if thats the case you have 2 options: 1) Try Emailing them and asking them to do it for you 2) Get a decent host!!! i recommend pagesgarden.com But i may well be wrong! You could try contacting your host and asking them if they allow you to change file permissions? Good Luck  Dal
