I *think* you just change this line:

define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/catalog/');

to this:

define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/');

oh and move all of your files to your base directory.

Not sure what else this would affect though.

i have moved all my files to the root, and it seems to work, except of this configure.php thing :-(

The simple and fastest way of doing things is to have your host foward all request from yoursite.com to yoursite.com/catalog

but I am not sure how this affects things like SEO etc.

these:

define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/catalog/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/catalog/');

need to both be

define('HTTP_COOKIE_PATH', '/');

define('DIR_WS_HTTP_CATALOG', '/');

and all files moved up one level

Redirects to another folder are best avoided if you can. Meta tag redirects are heavily punished by search engines, and although .htaccess redirects are less punished - they often still reduce your possible search engine ranking.

Just a suggestion...

Try asking your host to move it for you.  I have a good host who puts my catalog as my homepage.  So maybe yours will too!

You can accomplish pretty much the same thing without moving any files by adding this line to the appropriate .htaccess file:

DirectoryIndex catalog/index.php

I also added a redirect for anyone who linked directly to my index.html (add Redirect /index.html http://www.yourdomainname.com/catalog/index.php).
