Date format in Account_edit.php

I have changed the date format from mm/dd/yyyy to :

 

DD/MM/YYYY

 

in the Customer Registration form

 

But in the TEXT BOX where we can edit the ACCOUNT INFORMATION (account_edit.php), it still shows the mm/dd/yyyy format.

 

why ?

 

how to correct it
