zzivkovic
I have spent days on this and I still cant figure it out.. I have created .htaccess file and upload it in /admin folder .htaccess looks like this: AuthType Basic AuthName "Locked Area" AuthUserFile /www/pwd/.htpasswd require valid-user Then I have created pwd folder and put in it .htpasswd file that contains username and password corectly generated! I used generator from www.smarterscripts.com! When I go to admin section I corectly get window which requires my username and password, and when I type them nothing happens. After 3 retries I get message 401 Authorization Required.. Where is the problem?
Jack_mcs
I think you need a full path to the .htpasswd file (home/...). Jack_mcs
Yes, you can find it there and that looks like the path I would try. It won't hurt anyting if it is wrong. It just won't work, as you are finding out, so give it a try.
