Hi I'm sorta new to oscomerce and I found this cool oscomerce template that I wanted. I'm not sure where to put the files in my ftp space. I was also wondering if I'm able to use flash on it... Please help....

Thanks, Teemu

Ouch, I'm not sure you'll get a ton of responses. If the template is just a matter of replacing image files though just check the properties of any given image to find the path to where it lives.

If you need to actually go in and monkey files around dig a little deeper on the forums here and in the knowledge base. Just about anything you want to know how to change has already been covered pretty extensively.

The one I can answer pretty directly for you is yes, you can use flash. It's difficult to get it to pull products or information dynamically, much easier to place something static in the header or along the sides.

Templates should come with full instructions. And if you have .psd files you can use Photoshop to edit and export to GIF or Jpeg.

And yes Flash is compatible with PHP. In fact, most developer use flash with PHP rather than ASP, Perl etc. , but you'll need a fare bit of knowledge on PHP.

Unless it is a template designed for OSC, it won't work as is. Your best bet in that case is to install the Simplate Template System contribution. Even if you do not install STS you can still use the template. It will just take some work integrating it into the OSC code.
