whereditgo Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 I backed up my database and site to install authorize.net. Everything is working fine, but when I run through and do a test purchase, the item disappears as soon as confirm order is pushed and you're taken to the success page. The only other thing I did was follow instructions to change the invoice number to a higher number. It involved changing the database in orders-id, could that have something to do with it. When I restore the database, the items come back, but as soon as I run a test again the item still disappears and I have to restore the database again. I don't know what is going on. shouldn't everything have returned to normal when I restored the backup database. I am at a loss and don't know much about php or sql, so I don't know how to look for my mistake. I just know how to follow instructions on how to install things. Starting to think that's a bad idea. These are the instructions I followed: 1. Log into phpAdmin, select the table ?orders? 2. Select ?order_id?, click on the ?change? icon, the icon next to the ?trash? icon. 3. Select none under the extra field and save 4. Click on the "SQL" link and put in ?alter table orders auto_increment = 4100? in the ?run SQL query? box and hit the ?go? button 5. Go back to the table ?orders?, select ?order_id?, click on the ?change? icon again, and select ?auto increment? from the extra field. Save the changes I am at a loss, please help. Guest Posted December 24, 2004 Posted December 24, 2004 try the purchase without altering the order id and see if it goes thru. if it does then you did something wrong. if it still fails then your authorizenet installation is bad
whereditgo Posted December 24, 2004 Author Posted December 24, 2004 try the purchase without altering the order id and see if it goes thru.if it does then you did something wrong. if it still fails then your authorizenet installation is bad <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I restored my backups but it is still in there somewhere, every thing was fine until I did the order number thing. My order numbers are back to normal but not my items. I'm also getting errors on the auth.net now. I restored my backup, but it didn't work obviously because my authorize. net contribution is still there. I just don't know. One thing I noticed in my admin area, is that under tools there is an error message at the top that says "Error: Backup directory does not exist. Please set this in configure.php." could that be the problem? I really don't know what I have done. I will try and restore an earlier backup. whereditgo Posted December 24, 2004 Author Posted December 24, 2004 It has to be with the authorize.net installation, because I just figured out the items are switching to out of stock. So they are not really dissapearing. I can't change the stock amt. in the catalog area because when I installed the header tag controller, the meta tags got put in the middle instead of at the bottom and erased the stock amt. entry area. I didn't worry about it because it was working. I don't really want to mess with the header tags controller, because I am at #2 on Yahoo and MSN for my main keyword. I'll have to figure out on the authorize.net contribution where I went wrong. Oh well, I guess for now when ever someone orders something, I have to put it back in stock immediately, or I'll have nothing left on my site. Is it reality or just a dream, for some there is no difference.
