Using WS_FTP to correct "Warning: I am able to..."

Hi All,

 

I'm new at this but I managed to solved one issue simply by looking at all the related threads on the forum. The error was the following warning:

 

" Warning: I am able to write to the configuration file: d:/web/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file."

 

There were several solutions I found thanks to the folks who replied to previous queries from others but I (slowly but surely) figured out how to use WS_FTP to correct this problem and I thought this might be of some help to others. Here's what you need to do:

 

1) Select the file.

 

2) From the right mouse menu select Properties.

 

3) The permissions areas appear at the bottom of the Properties dialog. If the file is not on a UNIX server, the fields will be blank.

 

4) Set any of the options (or just type in 644, 400, etc into the "Numeric Value" box) and click the OK button
