I'm having exactly the same problem! Brand new install, only replaced the

/includes/languages/english.php

file which was working fine before - same version of installation.

I had to add a currency to make the thing show any prices, but the same thing is happening - price displays as zero to start with, (Australian Dollars: AUD). Switch to USD and a price comes up. Switch back to AUD and the price comes up. But is zero to start with on all products. This wasn't happening in the last version of my store!

Hi,

Did you modify the file using an editor, or did you use the osCommerce 'File Manager' ??

You are safer to use an editor, see 'Crimson Editor', it's free and very good.

I had a similar problem recently and it appeared to be the way I went about deleting, adding and changing default currency.

As I am not live yet I just kept trashing until it seemed to work.

But now I figure this works:

Delete currencies not required but leave the default alone.

Update currencies

Add whatever currency you want to be the default (but do not mark it default yet)

Update currencies

Edit the currency you want to be default and click the make default button

Update currencies

Now add other currencies as required

Update currencies

May sound long winded (and illogical) but it worked for me.

Also make sure you don't have caching issues and are infact getting an old file copy served up.

Ciao

ONE THING I HAVE NOTICED IN THE STORE THAT NO ONE MENTIONED

in the admin, Config, My Store I notice that you can set the currency to default language, you default language is english, and you have no english currency setup Eg: GBP, have a look at setting up GBP as a currency and if this changes the 0 to a ?"value" the you know that this was the problem. you can then set that pram to false

Steve

PS: Nice mod by the way

i sorted this problem after bloody hours. delete the lot of the currencys go to the english.php fil and change it to your currency (GBP etc) then go to your store control panel and ADD a currency then update it.. now go back to your products and reprice them as they go to 0.000

hope it helps someone.

OK, I went through all of these and other threads on $0 price showing up but found something that no one mentioned. I ended up re-uploading my catalog\includes\application_top.php file, then going to http://api.wipmania.com/ (my location server) and getting confirmation of the Country Code.

This got me up and running, but it may also have been a combination of a couple of other notes (uploading catalog/includes/classes/language.php file and (under My Store) changing the configuration of Switch To Default Language Currency to True (I am not sure if this was true before I had the problem, but it was set to false when I did).

Please note that the problem I had was that one day the site was working fine (all prices and currencies worked fine), then someone started spamming through my site and my hosting service suspended the account. Once they unsuspended the account, I changed the passwords and then noticed that all of the prices were 0 but you could still get prices when changing the currency (the default was USD, but then I could switch it to CDN to get the prices to show up and then if I switched it to US Dollars it would be fine then too).

This is a strange one, but I hope this post saves people the massive headache (and profit loss) that I went through.

Cheers,

Cory

Wow Cory,

This is really weird. I had Australian currency as my only and default currency. Then I added the USD as a second currency and then the prices showed up miraculously! It is all weird. I thank you for sharing this - it is not THE solution, I don't believe - however it IS A solution. So I'll go with it for now and see how I go.

Ta :)

Sandy
