TartanTrader Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Hi all I am trying to put a forum on my site for customers, has anyone got any suggestions as to the best software. I am sure someone has done this already, and would like to know what other people have experienced and what they think of the forum software used. Many thanks for your help Merry Christmas to all Phil Phil Townsend Waterslap Farm, Airth Falkirk Stirlingshire FK2 8QW

Good luck! Hope this helps a bit! Iggy Everything's funny but nothing's a joke...
♥Vger Posted December 22, 2004 Posted December 22, 2004 Personally - given the exploits in forums available to hackers at the moment, and the problems with security of versions of php, I'd stay well clear on having a forum on the same domain and/or server as your osCommerce store. If you have to have a forum then set it up on a seperate domain with a different hosting company, and just link to it from your store. In addition to the standard 'admin' login to the forum I'd also password protect it via your hosting control panel. Vger
