Admin Panel/Catalog Image Cache

What is this folder for?I see an awful lot of images in there and can the items in it be deleted...is this like a cache where it can be reset? Need Help

In the default install of osCommerce there is no imagecache folder inside the images folder. I would guess that you have a contribution installed on your website specifically for the purpose of caching images. However, even if such a contribution is installed, this folder should only be in use for cached versions of images you have in your images folder - check the image filenames out to see if they are duplicated. If the images are duplicates of ones in your main images folder then you SHOULD be able to safely delete them. If this is part of a contribution then the images will be cached again and reappear in that imagecache folder.

For some reason now when I go to create a new item in my catalog the image ends up going there instead of in the proper folder...why would my images go into this folder instead of the one I was pointing to...?

Either your images folder is defined as images/imagecache in your configure.php file, or else it's due to some contribution that's been installed.

My store has been moved to a new server with no problems other than the following which has me & my provider completely stumped.

On at least one existing catagory, if you click on an item thumbnail it loads a popup but it's to a page I have never seen before, a list of my catagories.

Also I have tried adding new products but the thumbnail nor the full image will show at all other than the red cross as I belive the image is being loaded into incorrect folder.

Please can someone help me fix this, I have read through almost every post & have noted that others have had similar problem but I have not found any solutions.
