digital product delivery

I have heard that osCommerce has the capability to automatically "deliver" digital products (such as PDF files) immediately after delivery.

If so, how do I set this up?

Can anyone guide me in the right direction towards automated digital product delivery?!

yes, start with the knowledge base, full of info

Not so fast =) I just looked through the "knowledge base" and found nothing about digital products.

I'm trying to find a module that will create a random user/pass for a directory and email it to the customer when purchased. Please be more specific than RTFM =) Because i did RTFM and now i'm having to ask. Thanks! ~ Nikozai

Oh and what would i search for to find such a add-on? I'm stuck on what key words to use otherwise i would have searched the forum instead of posting

hmmmmmm, i just went to the manual and it is there. and as you are using rtfm, i dont appreciate that. if you want to learn the product, you must do some research, not asking people how to do thingss, but spend your own time reading. it is there, i just went to it.

did you search in the knowledge base for what you want to do, ie download?

Hello, again! I am the originator to the string, and I, for one, appreciate your help and redirection to the knowledge base. I should have gone there first, but I am just learning to navigate within the site to find answers. I also agree with the part about reading - and I personally have MUCH more reading to do!

Thanks again.

Surely the problem with the knowledge base is that one has to know what the feature is called in order to find it?

Yes, nikozai wants users to "download" items, but nowhere in nikozai's post did nikozai say the word "download". Hence Nikozai then saying "I'm stuck on what key words to use".

So Mibble - it is helpful to say "look at 'download' in the manual", not helpful to just say "look at the manual".

Download could mean lots of things, and hiding it in "General Configuration" could be taken to mean "download config", or even "download oscommerce". So it could very easily be overlooked - after all, from nikozai's point of view, the digital products are being supplied to customers, not downloaded by nikozai.
