Jack_mcs Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 I want to start another site in which I accept PayPal. The problem is that my existing PayPal account returns to my first site after completing an order. I contacted PayPal and asked how to setup a second account and was told this is not allowed - that only one account is allowed per person. I explained the problem with the auto-return feature and was told I could only have it return to one site. I'm sure I've seen sites done by the same person where PayPal was accepted on both so surely this must be possible. Does anyone know how to go about doing this? Guest Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Install a PayPal contribution and the return address is sent as a paramater. Then, disable the return URL feature through the Paypal interface...it's no longer needed since it's sent as a paramater.
ozcsys Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 I would add a different email address to your paypal account for your second site such as [email protected] and use it for the payments, this will make it easier to seperate out where your money is coming from when you have multiple sites going into your account as you can run reports for each address. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??
Jack_mcs Posted December 21, 2004 Author Posted December 21, 2004 Ahh, Thanks. I have the contribution installed but didn't realize the auto-return was no longer required. I am curious as so far it was always said to activate the return URL on Paypal and stumbling by accident on this little note you say exactly the opposite ?!

Not sure if the new ipn module works the same but you could probably find out in the support thread. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? For now I think I'll just stick to the old default osC Paypal module which I understood should be working fine except for the chance of not getting all orders in your database when a customer doesn't behave well
Jack_mcs Posted January 11, 2005 Author Posted January 11, 2005 I've got the two accounts working now with the oscommerce PayPal IPN conribution. But on the PayPal pages when the order is being completed, the title of the page is for my main account. I can't see where this is set in PayPal. Does anyone know? Has anyone with two accounts been able to get PayPal to display the site names of each site? With Business accounts your Business information is what is going to show no matter what email address you use. I suppose you could chose something generic as a business name but other than that I do not believe you can do anything. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem?
