teamtaffy Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 I am new at this and just installed oscommerce. I got the error that I need to change the permission "osCommerce/catalog/includes/configure.php. This is a potential security risk - please set the right user permissions on this file." I don't know where to go to change the chmod. I don't even know what chmod is. Secondly I already have a general non ecommerce site created. To get this running, am I supposed to download all these files from the file manager and upload them on to my regular site in the ftp or just link a page in my general site to the address of the oscommerce site? :(
bglkk Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Your ftp client program will let you use chmod to change file permissions. Here's a tutorial for WS_FTPLE: http://www.eclecticpixels.com/tutorials/chmod/ Probably best to upload the files to a new directory (such as www.yoursite.com/catalog/) and link from your existing home page. But that's up to you. "Buy the ticket, take the ride..." -HST
♥Vger Posted December 21, 2004 Posted December 21, 2004 Just a reminder - the chmod command only works if your server is Unix or Lynux based - doesn't work if you're on a Windows server. Vger
