Alright, now here is my problem, I have been trying to add Product Attributes. I have everything alright and fine, but when I add the thing through the Products Attributes the ID is always above something, how do I get it to be set to 1 and count up 1 from there, like 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6 - 7 - 8 - 9 - 10 .......... and so on. So the ID's go up like that?

 

Plus, when I look at the such things in the products description, they are all out of order, like for jean sizes, it'll say 30 32 36 34 38 42 40 or some sort of like that, thats just a generated way my brain through it out. Its confusing and complicating. What do I do?

I am having the same problem. I found this contrib, but I was hoping to see if anyone has tested it before installing it.

I tried the Forrest Millers product, a piece of garbage in my opinion, it still places it out of order in my admin section, only works on the product info page, I cannot keep track of it and its forcing me to shut down my shop because of it. Look, the thing is a piece of trash in my opinion. How am I to keep organized when the darn thing is all out of range?

Product Attributes Sort Order is not a piece of trash. It does exactly what it claims to do, namely, provide the ability to enter a sort order to order products on the catalog side. Just because it doesn't do what you want is no reason to malign it or the person who wrote it.

 

I don't believe there are any contributions that do what you want on the admin side. You might want to look at some other contribs like Unique Attributes, QTPro, or New Attribute Manager. Each of these is trying to solve a different problem, but in doing so, they change the admin interface making it easier (or at least different) to work with the attributes.

Alright, if I add the New Attribute Manager, will it alter or affect the Product Attributes or is it a whole different system to sort order the admin section AND the product info page. I just said the heck with it and added the thing back on there.

Dustin,

 

New Attribute Manager's interface allows you to select a product, then, ALL attributes are displayed with checkboxes and you simply select the ones you want. It won't order them but it does provide an alternative interface. I'm guessing that your frustration in the admin section is based on the interface.
