Enable/Disable categories contribution

Hello,

 

i installed the Contrib and it works perfect. The only problem is, that some products from a disabled category will displayed on the frontpage - upcomping products module.

 

how must i change the sql in modules/upcoming_products.php ??

 

i tried :

I was wondering if there was a post to answer the duplicate entries appearing in the Search by Manufactuers? I was able to fix the duplicate entries appearing in the what's new and new products pages. Thanks in advance.

I've got this contrib working on a development site. I've managed to get it adapted into the Dynamic Sitemap contrib. I'm trying to get it into the All Products 4.4b contrib.

The problem I see is that when you disable a category, it also disables sub-categories but leaves the products enabled.

I need the products disabled when I disable a category so it will work with All Products.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am having some problems after I installed "Enable / Disable Categories" - I am having products appearing multiple times in the manufactuers box due to the product appearing in different subcategories. I have tried a few variations with "distinct", but I did not have any luck getting it to work.

 

Can someone take a moment to help me with this? Attached below is the coding from my manufactuers_info.php and from my manufactuers.php - I am sure which php file does the query for the Manufactuers drop down menu ... Thanks.

Hi ... I have just installed this contrib along with the fixes

for specials and general. However, when I go into my Admin

section, I see no changes whatsoever and worse, when I go

onto my site ALL the product listing in the Catagories box are

no longer there and no products are found for the product info

pages !!!

Never mind ... I pulled the contrib out and might try again later

there are many file to change , we could at least post the modification working here or in the contribtuion page of this contrib

 

because it should be longer and longer each time someone find there is a new contribtuion that should be modified in order not to show the disabled product ... what the best way to do this list ? add a test file next to install or ?

Hi all;

I was wondering if someone could lend a hand with this contrib.

After my third try at installing it, it finally looks like everything

is where it should be .... on/off lights, no errors and no conflict

with other contribs .... this is a very good thing.

But (you knew that was coming lol) when I disable at catagory,

it is still showing in my catagories menu and the products are

all still there.

Could I have missed something during the install? Anyone else

having this problem? Help??

I have the same problem when a query is made through a click on the manufacturer's box, the products displayed are duplicated many times when they belong to different categories. I hope to disable this kind of repetitions because many of my products are copied links into other categories.

I tried to install The Enable/Disable Categories Contrib. Everything went fine as far as I could tell until the reload. All I had visable was the header and the 1st 2 boxes on the left. The rest was blank. The first 2 boxes we my Ebay auctions box and then my categories box with the Coolmenu as a contrib. I tried to restore the files with the backups and remove the one line that I added to the database (ALTER TABLE categories ADD categories_status TINYINT(1) UNSIGNED DEFAULT "0" NOT NULL;) But now all I have is jumbe from the Coolmenu and the following statement

 

1054 - Unknown column 'c.categories_status' in 'where clause'

 

select c.categories_id, cd.categories_name from categories c, categories_description cd where parent_id = '0' and c.categories_id = cd.categories_id and c.categories_status = '1' and cd.language_id = '1' order by sort_order, cd.categories_name

I did a search through all the files to find anything pertaining to the categories_status, but found nothing. If I reinsert the SQL command it goes back to the blank screen with the header and 2 boxes. any help would be greatly appreciated.

i cant believe that for a contribution that is FIVE YEARS OLD , we are still stuck like taht

 

a the moment there are many sotcl ms2 files still :

- showing disabled categories adn their product

- manufacturer page linking top age with multiple duplicated ( 3 tile for me ) product

- when you access the product page typing the url, you still can see the product information ( any feddback from the proposition psoted in this thread ) ?

- the disabled sub categories , re enabled after disable and enable a higher level categories ..

 

here is what i think , we could share the effort and at least post the tweaking to the queries we did for contribtuion that need to be modified for EDC

and also if someone is aware enought to give exemple and explain in details how a commun query got to be modified , especially queries taht where not involving the categories Table

I have a fairly modified site and run sppc on it. Am trying to install version 1.6.1.2 of this contribution on it but don't know enough about writing code to make changes when coding has to be altered.
