davidpeterson Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 I am having some trouble with orders coming to my shop from US Military bases. They have a standard valid 5 digit zip-code like any other US town but UPS and USPS have different policies involving the bases. The only shipping method which is valid for the bases is USPS Priority. Is there any contribution or other code mods I could do in order to recognize a military order and change the shipping options? Thanks for checking out the problem and any help contributed! :)
Guest Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 an apo or ftp is an address tied into an overseas base, ups does not deliver to boxes that way, only the usps does. what kind of shipping option do you want to change to? you whould check with the post office first regarding how they determine packages for apo/fpo
davidpeterson Posted December 20, 2004 Author Posted December 20, 2004 FPO/APO. We have delivered to the bases before. Only USPS Priority is the only method to deliver. I would ideally like to have USPS Priority be the only option available for these orders. Not UPS or any other USPS method.
cmbyrne Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 i live at an fpo, you can use any usps shipping method. first-class/priority mail both take 7-10 days, express takes 3 days and space available takes 4-6 weeks. priority is what people usually use to send mail to me, unless i request and pay for express.
