KPryor Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 I just set up an OSC store for the very first time. My customer wanted a wood themed site to sell his products (custom made wood items). The site is at Pacs Pine Designs and I would appreciate any feedback. KP

At the bottom of the footer in the copyright you need to fix the HTML: Website Designed by <a href="mailto:[email protected]>Ken Pryor I'd suggest removing the xxxx Requests since xxxx also in the footer. It's just one extra database query that has to be done.

Call that one the result of typing while sleepy ;) Thanks also for the suggestion about removing the "Requests since" code. I wouldn't have thought of that and appreciate the help. KP
etepalusip Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Looks like a real good start, Ken. What about using the menu button background for the logo? The logo seems weak now and doesn't mesh very well with the rest of the color scheme. I like the menu buttons a lot. If you could change the rest of the buttons ('continue', 'add to cart', etc.) to match, it would look better. pete http://www.RouseArtCo.com

I wasn't very happy with the logo either. It was provided to me by the customer, but I agree, it's weak. I may contact him about that and see if he'll let me play with it a bit. Good idea on the other buttons. I think I'll do that. Thanks! I would make my buttons "wooden too", some freaky branch kind of thing <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for the idea Amanda. Actually, I made the buttons according to the customers request, so I probably won't change them any. He gave me an example of anothe site he liked and wanted buttons similar to the ones there, so that's what I made for him. Thanks both of you for the feedback. I need all the suggestions I can get, as I'm hoping to do some more OSC sites in the future. KP

If your customer likes those, by all means, still I think they are out of touch with your otherwise very integrated design. Treasurer MFC

KPryor Posted December 20, 2004 Author Posted December 20, 2004 Oh, sorry, I misunderstood. Yes, I agree, those definitely need changed. I'm gonna work on that and get them replaced. Thanks and sorry for the mixup. KP
radders Posted December 20, 2004 Posted December 20, 2004 Your Privacy Notice is surely incorrect. The custmers name and address must be available for shipping etc. or did I miss something? About the images... The wooden ones are good but I'm also seeing buttons like this: Looks like you spotted this just before I hit 'send'

Very possible a mistake was made there. I didn't write it, but I'll go take a look at it. You are correct about the buttons. I'm gonna change those to match the others. Thanks! KP
