Guest Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 You should use an ftp client to download & edit the files, then upload them again. If you use the file manager, they have to have write permissions ( CHMOD 777 ). TJ I have downloaded the osCommerce software but when I try to edit the files through file manager, I cannot edit any thing just select and copy. Please tell me what I am doing wrong. Thanks. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Edit them locally and then ftp them back up to your server. The Knowledge Base is a wonderful thing. Do you have a problem? Have you checked out Common Problems? There are many very useful osC Contributions Are you having trouble with a installed contribution? Have you checked out the support thread found Here BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP!!! You did backup, right??

♥Vger Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 and when I ftp to server, I cannot even find the path that is listed on the file manager. The file pathways you see via FTP will not be the same as the file pathways you use in your configure.php files. You need to FTP to your root directory (something like public_html or htdocs or httpdocs or just html), and that's where you'll find the start of your osCommerce files. Vger
