Changing the time displayed in admin

I have a little problem that is annoying more than anything - the time displayed in admin on the order page (date purchased) is 6 hours behind GMT - how do you alter this - or is there a way of deleting the time (no time is better than an incorrect time)

I have found the solution in thread - 76994 BUT.......

I am slightly confused and perhaps need it spelt out for me simply.

I am in UK and want to set it up for GMT.

 

Can someone PLEASE let me know what code to replace with what - and which files are affected - Thanks John
