How can i change manufactur into somtin else

For my store i have no use of the manufactory header, can i change this? I have no experience yet in php and am working with dreamweaver MX.

 

Is it possibly to make some more layout changes to make the shop somewhat more personal?

For starters, you could eliminate the manufacturers boxes from the columns and, in admin, set the display to false (0) for Display Product Manufacturer Name under Product Listing in Configuration. I'm not sure what other changes might have to be made (I have not taken that feature out of my site, so I have not worked thorugh this issue). You could also edit the defines so that the manufacturers stuff becomes something else. Once you get comfortable with php, you will be able to do more and more customization. Whatever you do, back up the original files first so you can put it back the way it was if it gets broken................... :'(
