cowo Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 How do I delete the default setup of Oscommerce? It kept giving me the message: "Error: I can not write to this file. Please set the right user permissions on: ..." when I tried to go to File Manager/includes/languages/english/index.php. How do I set the user permission?
Mighty Mike Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 I assume this is your configuration file that you are trying to amend. you need to use your control panel at set the permissions so that you can write to it. But remember to reset the permissions after.
Guest Posted December 17, 2004 Posted December 17, 2004 do not use the file manager includes with osCommerce, it will only mess with your system. Use ftp to download the file, edit it then reupload.

For example 777 means the file can be execute, read and write by any users (lowest security).
