blueedge Posted December 16, 2004 Posted December 16, 2004 I have been using PayPal IPN. However, some customers have commented that the whole ordering and payment process is every long. Customers have to go through four screens (Create an account, Select shipment option, Select payment option and Confirm order) even before they get to PayPal for payment processing. Recently, I have had several orders that have been submitted but the customer has not completed the payment process. In talking to the some of these customers, they state that they get stuck on the PayPal side. Apparently, PayPal recognizes their email as being associated with a PayPal account and the customer either doesn't remember their password or would like to pay by cc. As a result, the customer just leaves. I was thinking that cc processing with a merchant account would eliminate the PayPal confusion and shorten the payment process. Does anyone have any recommendations for cc processing for a US based site? What do I need to know about selecting a merchant account? Also, how difficult is it to switch from PayPal to cc processing? What are some programming difficulties I should watch out for? Any opinions or advice is appreciated. Thanks Quote

trubuy Posted December 19, 2004 Posted December 19, 2004 Sure- Merchant accounts can help your business eliminate the confusion for your customer. Being in the merchant account business for over three years now I can tell you that it is by far the best thing you can do for your business. it helps you accept payment quicker. I use a leading merchant account provider for my clients and they are good. I never had a complaint and their prices are good to. But due to forum rules I cannot give there name. I really love this forum and do not want to get banned. Any way, most people sign up through my website but if you want to give me a ring I can walk you right through the steps. And even help you sign up. I do it anyway, all day for my clients, so It would not be a problem to shoot a fellow oscommerce pal a tip here and there=_ SeeDTC Quote
