Hi guys,

Right, basicly ive been getting some errors when trying to install a new oscommerce store.

They all run along the same lines as

"Warning: dir(): open_basedir restriction in effect. File(/ext/t/th/domain.co.uk/html/) is not within the allowed path(s): (.) in /mnt/storage2/t/th/domain.co.uk/html/admin/file_manager.php on line 178"

(replaced actual webaddress with 'domain'

That perticular error is just when trying to go to 'file manage' option in admin, I have been getting same type of error for a few other pages (and also when trying to install using the install script (had to manualy install the store in the end)

Anyway, finaly got a reply from the host saying:

"The open_basedir is set to "." , this can't be changed at the moment due to the current way we have configured our servers."

My question is how can i configure oscommerce to work with this kind of setup?? Im not sure how to stop these errors??

(also when i go to catalog option in admin it says it cant see catalog images directory - yet im certain i have the paths correct??)

Thanks for any help on this,

Chris

you could try getting rid of the <base href statement in index.php but I am not sure that works with this problem.
