Guest
When I go to install a fresh copy of oscommerce, I get to the screen that prompts me to enter the database username and info to setup the database connection... no problem. After entering that info, it takes me to the following page: "New Installation Database Import A test connection made to the database was successful. Please continue the installation process to execute the database import procedure. It is important this procedure is not interrupted, otherwise the database may end up corrupt. The file to import must be located and named at: /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/install/oscommerce.sql" So I hit NEXT - and I suddenly get THIS error: "New Installation Database Import The following error has occurred: SQL file does not exist: /usr/local/psa/home/vhosts/install/oscommerce.sql" I check, and I see that the file it is talking about IS in fact in the "install" directory. Has anyone ever had this problem? Any help is appreciated!!!
Guest
What program does everyone use to install their oscommerce into their websites? I am hearing Frontpage isn't the greatest... but I'm not sure if it's that - or if it's due to my host missing some marbles that I am having this problem. What other software is there, and where can I download it (preferrably something free)
Guest
for editing the files search the net for php editors. the software used to install osCommerce is osCommerce, the code runs on php, thus you need to have php, mysql and apache or iis installed. you must ftp the complete source to your site to get everything to work. on another note, you should read forum rules on placing a website link in your signature. they belong in the profile only. It's fixed. Well I'll mess with it then. I got in touch with my host (globat.com) and they haven't been able to figure it out yet either. They're working on it right now. It seems that I am about the only person to have this error. If I get an answer, I'll reply and post it incase someone else is having problems like this.... maybe it's just globat??? I know ipowerweb.com supports oscommerce really well. Websitesource.com is absolutely TERRIBLE (at everything)! Globat is normally really good about everything - except for this new issue. I'm sure eventually they'll fix it. I'll keep you (and everyone else) posted.... for what it's worth. Thanks!
♥Vger
Uninstall FrontPage extensions, delete all of the vti folders from your site via FTP, and I think you'll find you can run the install just fine. Vger
