Extra Product Field&Advanced Search Compatability

I installed the Extra Product Fields contribution and it works great, the only problem is, is that I would like to be able to search products using these attributes. Is there a way I can make Advanced Search - Attributes contribution work with it? even though you have to modify some of the same files?

After figuring out which lines to modify I found that bringing these two modules together will not work. Is there any other way I could search using my extra product fields?
